Archaki began his law enforcement career in 1962 as a patrolman. He rose through the ranks of the department serving as a sergeant, detective sergeant, detective lieutenant and finally in 1988, he was promoted to captain, the Clarkstown police said.
He served as a police captain until his retirement in 1996.
In a Facebook post, the department said: "The men and women of the Clarkstown Police Department send our condolences to his family on their loss of a truly professional police officer who served this great community for over 30 years. May he rest in peace."
